LOW
MOVES LM-1616
fully adjustable
Suspension Controller for hydros and air
The
LOW MOVES line of controllers from West Brook
Industries, Inc. is taking lowriding to new levels.
While manual switching continues to be the most
economical way to add action to a lowrider’s
powered suspension the ability to reliably mix
and match cylinder functions for long periods
of time call for more elaborate setups. LOW MOVES
provides rhythm switching with a series of industrial
timers and relays that repeat selected steps without
interruption. The driver creates his own unique
routines and the controller repeats them exactly
as often as desired without continual switching.
Manual switch operation is still functional since
the controller is connected parallel to the standard
setup.
Programming
the LM-1616 controller to perform even the most
complex series of operations is easy once the
basic concept is understood. Four primary functions
are selected and adjusted by the driver.
1. Sequencing – deciding the order in which
the individual wheels will operate
2. Timing – setting the length of time a
wheel waits before pumping, how long it will pump,
how long it waits before dumping and how long
it dumps
3. Grouping – selecting how many wheels
are controlled by one station. This can be set
to 2, 3 or all four wheels
4. Solo select – control each wheel individually
from each station
By adjusting the pump and
dump timing the controller can be matched to the
speed of the suspension cylinders (or bags). Adjusting
the cylinder flows for raise and lower speeds
adds even more flexibility to the system. Once
a dance sequence is worked out the switch and
timer settings are written down and the routine
named. When the controller is reset to a routine
the performance is repeated just as created.
Because of the problems
that can result from extreme vibration and impact
damage the system uses industrial grade components
for reliable service and repeatable timer settings.
The connections are solder type throughout the
controller and printed circuit boards are used
where possible. The system operates on 24 volts
DC however other voltages are available. The number
of pump and dump operators is matched to the user’s
setup. Full instructions for installation and
operation accompany the unit.
Options include a wireless
remote on/off switch for operation from outside
the vehicle. This is especially useful for shows
and demo setups but would be handy for those all-important
private exhibitions as well. The Audio input option
puts the music from your sound system in control
of the suspension. Also the system can be set
up to operate on 110-volt AC outlet power for
displaying at shows or at home.
