What’s
up everyone! As the winter months fall upon
us, so do thoughts of new projects and modernizing
our vehicles.
While attending the SEMA show in
Las Vegas this past month, manufacturers
large and small packed the Las Vegas Convention
Center to promote their great products
for 2004. The top vehicles
from all over the world were showing
off these hot new products. Year after year
this event increases in size. This
year there were over 150,000 attendees.
Make sure to check out our exclusive jam
packed SEMA Show layout
in this month’s issue. To register
for next years event visit SEMA at www.semashow.com
.
The trip to the SEMA show
this year was quite a bit different than
past years. Normally I am catching the next
flight out to the City of Lights. This
year, I hit the road with Chopper, Curtis,
and Jeremy Marsh from Choppers Auto Clean-Up.
We teamed up to tow our show vehicles to
the SEMA Show. The road to Vegas at some
points felt like a never ending
journey through the vast deserts
of the West Coast. We rolled into SIN CITY
and The Big Wood Project made a
grand debut for Air Lift Company at SEMA.
Once again thanks to everyone that was involved
in making this debut a success. Make sure
to check out the pictures in The
Big Wood Project section this month.
Appearing on the cover
this month is Derrick Bawcum
representing Relaxed Atmosphere
in his 1995 Chevy S-10.
Derrick’s goal coming into this creative
sport was to have a bad ass S-10 laid out
on 20’s. From the looks of it Derrick
gracefully accomplished this impressive
task within the year and a half it took
to build this bad creation.
We have served up the final touches to Derrick’s
S-10 with the addition of the beautiful
December Gauge Girl Logan Springs.
I was able to hook up with Logan shortly
after the bikini contest
at the Slammin’ and Jammin’
show. See how Logan seduces
the camera in her Gauge Girl layout.
The start of this month’s show coverage
is with our friends over at Trendsetter
Customs with their 5th
annual event Ass in
the Grass. The event was held
at the Dayton Gym Club in Dayton,
OH on the weekend of September
6th -7th 2003. This show has grown
so much that Jake and crew had
to move to a larger location.
There was no problem filling the new show
field with a fine collection of
custom vehicles and women. For
more information on next years event check
out www.trendsettercustoms.com
.
Freelance Photographers John Jackson
and Smalls teamed up to
tackle the ever popular event Scr8pfest
hosted by Pebble Pushers.
The event was held at the Fieldcrest
Cannon Stadium in Kannapolis,
NC on the weekend of September
26-28 2003.For more information
or registration for next year’s event

Freelance Photographer Jason Denny
had the honor of hooking up with the guys
over at Pleasures Truck & Compact
for their 10th Annual
event Slamboree.
On the weekend of August 23-24 2003
Custom rides from all over the country poured
into the Lloyd Noble Center
in Norman, OK. For info

and Compacts at www.pleasuresonline.com
We have another stunning collection
of vehicle features for
you this month. We start off with Jon
Antes and his 1995 Toyota
Supra. I was able to catch up with
Jon at the Nopi
show in Bristol, TN. Make
sure to check out the fine attention to
detail this ride has to offer.
Freelance Photographer Michael McGill
caught up with Amanda Powell
at ITB Indy this past August
to here the amazing story on her 1991
Chevy Blazer. Needless to say this
Blazer used to be an old Gas and Electric
service truck! This truck has lived
the life of rags to riches.
I had the chance of running into Chris
Huval representing Cuttin’
up Minis at the Scrapin’
the Coast show with his 1993
Isuzu Pick up. Chris was able to
have his ride laid out and show ready
in 7 months with the help from club
members and friends. Make sure to catch
up with him in the 2004.
