Gauge Editor-in-Chief Donnie BabbThe month of August always marks the busiest time of the year for top notch car shows. This month we are on the road back to back weekends hitting some of the largest events in the country plus, gearing up for our annual Truck Bash open house. Make sure to visit our even calendar and catch us at one of these upcoming featured events. http://archive.gaugemagazine.com/eventcalendar

It's official - Gauge Magazine.com now has a mySpace page. Staff photographer Erod has created a page for us to join the party on my space. Please make sure to stop by and join our friends list. http://www.myspace.com/gaugemagazine

This month we start off the issue joining staff photographer Toby Mosholder in Wisconsin at the cover photo shoot of Bill Dieterich’s 1995 Chevy 3500 Dually, featuring the beautiful Jessica Barrett.  The minute our staff laid eyes on the two of them we knew it was a perfect combo.  Both of these features are a for sure not to miss.

For most people building a vehicle they start off slow and then something motivates them to go extreme. The desire to be totally different is what motivated Shane Kirk with his 1999 Honda Civic. After just one look; staff photographer Brad Walker knew that this Honda was made for the pages of Gauge with all the unique modifications.

The Chevy Cavalier has been one of the most modified vehicles to ever hit the streets. When building one you have to be very selective on modifications to make sure you stay above the competition in this very tough class.  A radical body kit, great color combination, and a turbo under the hood is how feature vehicle owner Brett McCall stays in front of the competition. Make sure to check out this awesome feature with the super sexy Gauge model Shannon Coyle.

For show coverage this month we start off with Staff photographer Brad Walker in Pigeon Forge, TN for the 17th annual Drop-Em-Wear Mini Truck Nationals. Sandy and her crew at Classy Creations always work hard to host this great show in the Tennessee mountains. For info on next years show visit www.classycreations.com

Next in the line up we catch up with staff photographer Toby Mosholder in Cincinnati, OH for Summer Showdown II presented by Side FX. Just one look at this coverage and it is easy to see that Summer Showdown III will be awesome.  www.summershowoff.org

Staying with Toby we travel to Wisconsin for the ever famous DropFest.  This year marked the 6th of this northern event.  With a location like the Wisconsin International Raceway you know the event will pack in the participants. This is exactly what James and his crew did. I cant wait to attend the 2007 event. www.dropfest.com

To finish up the month we travel West with Staff photographer Jason Peckovitch to attend the Extreme Autofest. Hot girls, hot cars and a hot summer Colorado day were the perfect combination for this event. Make sure to follow the entire Autofest tour at www.extremeautofest.com

At the start of next month Gauge Magazine along with co sponsor GM Accessories will host our 3rd annual Slamology Car, Truck and Music festival. The show has been growing leaps and bounds every year. This year will be no different!! We have many great activities planned for the entire family. Make sure to stay up to date on all the great info as it becomes available at www.slamology.com
