Gauge Editor-in-Chief Donnie BabbHappy Holidays
from the entire Gauge Staff!

2006 has been a wonderful year for the entire show scene. This past year we had a chance to feature some of the most beautiful ladies and the hottest car and trucks in the country. Our 2007 season schedule is starting to really fill up. One show to pay extra special attention to this upcoming season is our Annual Slamology Car, Truck and Music Festival. This year will be the 4th annual event for us. Over these years of putting on the show one of the main complaints we received from our readers and participants was to change the date so you would not have to choose between family plans and their hobby.
So, for this year we have listened to you and have moved the dates to dead in the middle of summer on June 23-24, 2007. We have already started working on the event. As of today we have already resigned 90% of our sponsors including title sponsor GM Accessories. 2007 is for sure to be another Slamology for the record books.

You can stay up on all the Slamology 2007 show info at www.slamology.com

This month we start off with Staff Photographer E-Rod’s 2006 Chevy Cobalt LST. From the outside this Cobalt looks like your average Cobalt. But, if you were to pull up next to Erod at a stop light and challenge him to a little drag race odds are you will see nothing but taillights when he throws down over 270 horsepower on your ass. Erod’s car is a perfect example of a modern sleeper car, just like they built back in the day.

To brighten up the holiday season and Erod’s car we present the stunning Samantha Dawn. Samantha’s stunning beauty and awesome smile will make you immediately click on her gauge girl layout to get a closer look.  After reading the layout you will notice she is into cars and car shows. Don’t get your hopes up guys! She in not married, but definitely taken.

In the Mini Truck Scene it is becoming harder and harder to stand out in the crowd. If you want to really make an impact you have to step outside the circle and build a truck that is more unique than anyone else. This reason is exactly why Richard Thompson built his super sexy 1992 Ford Ranger. Staff photographer Smalls could not resist the opportunity to shoot this (Red Ranger). Make sure to check it out.

This month Staff Photographer Brad Walker had the pleasure of meeting up with Brandon Perry and his 1996 Toyota Mini. Brandon is the type of enthusiasts that not only has the foresight on how a mini should look, he also has the talent. Brandon spent countless hours in the garage working on this top notch mini doing most of the work himself.

To start off show coverage this month we have the annual SEMA convention in Las Vegas, NV. Since the start of Gauge back in 1999 our staff has covered this event. It is amazing to see how the show grows larger and larger each year. This year Staff Photographer, Toby Mosholder took on almost the entire show himself.  From day one of the show, his priority was to bring back the best SEMA coverage on the web.

Just like in years past; we have separated this enormous show coverage up into several sections to make the coverage easier to navigate:
SEMA Show Coverage (everything from mild to wild)
archive.gaugemagazine.com/2006/December/SEMA2006.htm
The Hotties of SEMA (the most beautiful ladies of the SEMA Show)
/archive.gaugemagazine.com/2006/December/SEMAHotties.htm
Celebrities of SEMA (SEMA has become a social magnet for Celeberties)
archive.gaugemagazine.com/2006/December/SEMACelebs.htm

Along with the SEMA show comes some of the hottest after parties to hit Las Vegas. Annually we have had the pleasure of hooking up with our friends at Kicker Car Audio to cover the extraordinary Big Air Bash. For 2006, Kicker added a wake board freestyle pool featuring the best wake boarders in the business. These professional water athletes were the perfect blend to the flying Motorcycles riders jumping high above the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Make sure to check out this coverage; it is a for sure not to miss. You can also stay up to date on the 2007 Big Air Bash by visiting www.kicker.com

For the past few years now another large post SEMA activity has been the Friday Night After SEMA Car Show. If you are one of the lucky ones to get out of the show on time, you need to bring your vehicle down to the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. The event is open to all years and makes and is produced by Dustin Warren and Brooke Tobias they are two of the biggest car show promoters in the Vegas Area.

Relaxed Atmosphere is a prime candidate for one of the most successful club shows in the country. The Car Club hosted shows are becoming more and more popular these days. This past September Staff Photographer Brad Walker had the pleasure of spending the day with the guys over at RA. Just one look at the photos and you can tell he had a blast. For info on next years event stay tuned to http://www.relaxed-atmosphere.com

Now, when it comes to another way to use your truck, the guys over at Fletcher Fire Department take it to the limit. Each year the Fletcher Fire Department holds their annual Mud Bog. If you have never attended a mud bog yourself; it is something you have to do and soon! Staff Photographer Toby Mosholder spent the entire night with mud flying all over him and his camera. Just take one look at this coverage and you will see how much fun you can have in the mud. Get your truck and boots ready for next year and contact Clay Caven by e-mail at claycaven@hotmail.com

So this wraps up 2006… Thank you again for a wonderful year. We will see you in 07.
