The
month of June is always a great
indicator
that show season is under way.
It is really the big payoff
for all those countless hours
in the garage over the winter
months. To finally be able to
drive that project down the
strip and get countless looks
rolling into the car show. The
feeling is truly unbelievable.
On
the cover this month
staff photographer Smalls really
shows of his photography talent
by capturing the beautiful Brooke
Benson modeling on Lee
Farmer’s radical Mazda B2000.
Lee’s Mazda is one of the most
radical Mazda trucks to ever
hit the pages of gauge. The
first time Lee built this bad
boy it appeared on the cover
of Mini Truckin Magazine in
January 2002. After getting
the cover Lee tore the truck
back down and got the cover
of Mini Truckin again in the
June 2006 issue. Congratulations
Lee, on the big payoff for all
your hard work.
Gauge
Girl Brooke Benson
has no problem drawing attention
away from Lee’s Mazda. Her beauty
is an instant eye magnet. Make
sure to visit her Gauge Girl
Layout and get an up-close and
personal look at this true
southern beauty queen.
For
show coverage this month we
start on the east coast at Tunerfest
in Wildwood, NJ.
Just one look at these photos
and you know why hundreds of
enthusiasts flock to the Tunerfest
events. For info on all of next
years Tunerfest events visit
www.thetunerfest.com
Next
we catch up with staff photographer
Toby Mosholder at Carl
Casper’s Autorama in
Louisville, KY. Carl Casper’s
has been the largest indoor
car show in the Midwest
for years. If you have never
had the pleasure of attending
this show you have got to
put it on your calendar for
2007. For all event
info visit www.carlcasper.com
Every
year on
Mothers Day weekend Darrell
Unzell and his crew at the Cruisefest
Nationals throw the
largest show season kick off
party. Again this year we had
the pleasure of attending the
show. The move to Louisville
this year did not affect the
large crowd and crazy party.
Stay tuned to www.cruisefestnationals.net for
all the info on the 2007 event.
On
Friday April 28, 2006 we had the pleasure of attending the
1st annual Jeramy
Schmitt Memorial Car show and
Drag Race at Indianapolis
Raceway
Park.
Jeramy unexpectedly passed away
in 2005 following a football
practice. Jeramy’s friends and
family have grouped their efforts
and created this Car Show and
Drag Race to raise money for
a Scholorship fund in Jeramy’s
name. Stay up to date on all
their efforts and info on the
2007 memorial dates at www.bigschmitty.com
For
specials this month we start
out with the return
of The Dugout. Gauge
Columnist Justin Wynn gives
you a heads up on how to avoid
getting those nasty customization
tickets. Another great resource
for this type of info is also
available through the S.E.M.A.
Action Network. www.semaactionnetwork.com.
The SEMA Action Network are
the guys fighting the lawmakers
from distributing dumb ass tickets
for having non factory modifications.
