Gauge Editor-in-Chief Donnie BabbAt the first look this month you will notice that we stepped outside our usual realm of cover feature vehicles. Normally our cover vehicles are bad-ass full custom vehicles, but when the opportunity came to shoot two of the most aspired Corvette’s in the world: The 1999 Corvette C5-R, # 5 of 20 and the C5-R tribute car a 2004 Z06 LeMan’s Edition. Staff photographer Toby Mosholder could not resist bringing this home for everyone to check out. This is the first time in Gauge history that we have featured a totally stock vehicle and a total race car. There is a great story behind all this madness; make sure to take a few minutes and read the article so you can fully understand the story behind these very rare and priceless corvettes.

While at the NOPI show in Phoenix, AZ, staff photographer Jason Peckovitch had the pleasure of photographing Jerry Ingrahm and his awesome 2002 Nissan Altima. An additional highlight to this feature is the beautiful Kelly Christ. She's not afraid of the camera! Make sure to keep an eye out for her on the cover of an upcoming issue of Gauge.

For the next feature, we travel to Tennessee and catch up with staff photographer Brad Walker.  Brad had the honor of meeting with Brandon Brooks and capturing his immaculate 1968 Datsun Pickup. Not very often do you see an old school as cool as this one, make sure you check this radical feature out.

On the weekend of March 11-12, 2006 staff photographer Smalls took the trip from Atlanta to LA for a little vacation and to photograph the Forbidden Fantasy 06 show at the Lake Perris Fairgrounds. Just one look at the coverage and it goes to prove that there is nothing like a true hardcore southern California event. For all the info on next years event please visit http://fffshow04.tripod.com

When someone mentions that they are attending a NOPI event you can bet they are going to have the time of their life. NOPI produces some of the hottet events in the nation, hands down. Live entertainment, hundreds of show cars and the best bikini contest around; all of this is what staff photographer Jason Peckovitch experienced on the weekend of March 18-19, 2006 at the NOPI Arizona event. Make sure to check this exclusive coverage, for more info on the entire NOPI series visit www.nopinationals.com

Next up on the list of shows this month is the world famous Spring Fling Show held in Panama City. Over the past years Spring Fling has become the mini-trucker spring break trip of the year. The show is absolutely non stop and the night life is like no other. Make sure to stay up to date on the 2007 event at www.springflingcarshow.com

To wrap up this months coverage we check in with staff photographer Toby Mosholder in his home town of Dayton, OH for the Dayton Autorama. Make sure to put this winter show on your 2007 calendar. http://www.daytonautorama.com

Toby doesn't let us off the hooks that easily though, as he hits us with another tech article. This month he shows us how to install the TR Manufacturing 8 piece C-notch on his 1992 Chevy C-1500. If you are considering installing a big 8 piece C-notch in your truck, this article is for you.

For our May pinup, artist Don Pace really went the extra mile with his version of how to jack up a hot rod. Make sure to right click and save this one for your personal collection.
