To
wrap up this month’s
collection of features,
photographer Toby Mosholder
shot Steve Owens 2005 Chevy
Cobalt SS. Steve uses this
radical painted Cobalt
to showcase his custom
paint work at shows across
the Midwest. If you see
Steve at a show, make sure
you get and up close look
at his super clean paint
work.
For events this month, first and foremost, we feature Slamology the 4th annual
Car and Truck Music Festival was a huge success. With over 500 vehicles competing
for top honors, the show was like no other, there were over 32 different musical
performers in the two day weekend. It was remarkable! Special congratulations
go out to Sean Berkey for taking home our one of a kind custom weight belt, the
Best of Show 2007. The 2007 Slamology DVD will be out within the next couple
of weeks. Stayed tuned for information on the 2008 event at; www.slamology.com .
Our next stop on our show tour we stop off with staff photographer Matt Petro
at the Wisconsin International Raceway for Drop Fest. James and his crew have
stepped this show up a notch every year. For an extra special treat on Friday
night this year Buckcherry performed for everyone at the show. Nothing like a
big name band to help draw in a huge crowd “Even in the Rain”. For
all Drop Fest info visit www.dropfest.com
Over the past few years we have been covering the Good Guys Hot Rod shows as
a little extra show coverage for our readers. Even though the Good Guys lifestyle
is way out of our normal content, these guys have great ideas that we can all
learn from. This month we showcase the 19th annual Good Guys Hot Rod
Nationals in Indianapolis. Over the next few months we will have extended coverage
from a few other good guys’ shows, so stay tuned for more great content.
If you have never had the pleasure of attending a good guys show make sure to
add one to your calendar, you won’t be disappointed. www.good-guys.com
To finish up this month’s show coverage we travel to Asheville, NC with
Staff photographers Smalls and Randall Reynolds at Scraping the Smokies. Over
the past few years this event has grown leaps and bounds for the mini community
in the south. For all info on next year’s event visit www.scrapinthesmokies.com
