Gauge Editor-in-Chief Donnie BabbOn you mark, Get set, GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO…

Finally the month of May has arrived and all of us here at Gauge Magazine are running one hundred miles an hour…
Oh, this is such a good time, never in my life have I imagined that work could be so much damn fun…
So stay tuned, Show Season has begun and we will be all over the world bringing you nonstop show and lifestyle coverage.

On the cover this month, we are featuring Gauge Magazines’ own Matt Petro’s Project S10 Air Dancer v2.0.  A lot of you will remember v1.0 from last year.  V2.0 of the air dancer was released at the 2006 SEMA show in the Air Zenith Booth.  Immediately following SEMA, Mini Truckin Magazine did a full feature of the truck on top of the parking garage at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.  The truck received a full 6 page layout in the June 2007 issue. Make sure to pick up your copy today.  In the Gauge layout this month we have posted many videos of the truck in action. Make sure to check them out… The accomplishments that the Project s10 air dancer does on 600psi of helium will blow your mind.  Almost every weekend this summer we plan to leave crowds in ah from coast to coast. Stay up on the entire schedule by visiting the official site for the truck at www.projects10airdancer.com

As if the Project s10 air dancer was not enough, we are stepping it up a notch and featuring the beautiful Karen Elise climbing all over this thing.  We had the pleasure of photographing with Karen at the 2nd annual Jeremy Schmitt Memorial Car Show and Drag Race in Indianapolis at raceway park.  Photographer Dan Davis wasted no time taking control of this photo shoot and capturing this beauty and beast, one frame at a time. Make sure to check these photos out, they are ones for the record books.  Inside Karen’s Gauge Girl layout you will notice the work of several different photographers - Karen’s portfolio is so large that we just did not want to miss the opportunity to show our readers all of her awesome photos.
Make sure to hit up Karen on your friends list on my space at www.myspace.com/teaseumgirl

Here is another really cool link of a video from this cover photo-shoot and the Vertical Limits bike team.  Make sure to check it out. It is a great look at just another day at the office for us.
COVER PHOTO SHOOT

For this month's features we start off with a photo shoot of David Duchnowski totally radical Ford Ranger by Staff photographer Randall Reynolds. In this sport many times you will see a few radical body mod’s on different vehicles, but not very often do you see all of them on one truck.  Totally radical is exactly what David did with this flawless beauty.  This is actually the 2nd time that David has been featured in Gauge Magazine with his ranger. Make sure to check out his photo shoot from 2002 at this link. archive.gaugemagazine.com/2002/feb2002/97fordranger.htm
It is amazing how far a truck can change over a 5 year period. Nice job on the rebuild David… We will see you at Slamology.

Next we catch up with Staff Photographer Brad Walker in the cemetery for the photo shoot of Spunky Patterson’s 1991 Honda Accord. Spunky's Accord has spent countless hours in the paint booth to create this truly unique paint job. Every square inch of this car has been custom painted. Needless to say at any given trophy presentation Mr. Patterson gets sore legs from all the walking to the stage.  Make sure to check out this one… It is another for the record books.

Finally, we go on-site with staff photographer Toby Mosholder for the photo shoot of Bradley Calhoun’s 2002 Chevy s10. Bradley has truly gone after the s10 class with this two toned flawless beauty.   Being a member of Acrophobia, Bradley is no stranger to the show scene and what it takes to win. Make sure if you see him at a show this summer you stop by and let him know you saw his truck in gauge. (Then steal his beer) J

For show coverage this month, we start off in Detroit, MI on the weekend of March 9-11 with photographer Dan Davis at the 55th Annual Murray’s Discount Auto Stores Detroit AutoRama. Detroit AutoRama over the years has become the most prestigious car show in the country. Just one look at the coverage, it is easy to see why thousands of people flock to Detroit yearly. Congratulations to Ross and Beth Myers they were the winners of the 2007 world famous Riddler Award. For all the info on the 2008 Detroit AutoRama visit www.autorama.com

Next on the show tour, we catch up with staff photographer Randall Reynolds at the Drop Jaw Magazine Winter Cruise Tour on Feb 19-25, 2007. This one week show is an utterly good time for everyone involved. Randall got the pleasure of attending the final stop at the NASCAR Café in Myrtle Beach, SC. For information on any of Drop Jaw’s events visit www.dropjawmag.com

To wrap up the shows this month, Staff Photographer Wladimir Moquete takes us to Miami, Florida for the Hot Import Nights show on December 16, 2006.  Hot Import Nights shows are known for their bad ass cars and beautiful women. Just one look at the show coverage and you will understand why everyone is raging about these events. For all info on the 2007 HIN shows visit www.hotimportnights.com

We're presenting a couple of new special features this month - first: Eye Poppin' - a look at a small collection of custom paint and graphic work that has blown our minds over the past year.  One of my favorite parts of this sport is how each vehicle owner displays their own personality through their paint job. Make sure to check this feature out and see what our lifestyle is all about.

The next new feature we're proud to present is the artwork of AXEBONE. AXEBONE is an artist that specializes in drawing beautiful woman. For his first monthly feature, he has provided us with a drawing of our cover girl, the beautiful Karen Elise in a crazy pirate outfit. To get a sneak peak of more of AXEBONE'S artwork visit www.axebone.com

Well that wraps it up for me this month. As always if you have any questions, concerns or comments, do not hesitate to contact us… and If you are on mySpace don’t forget to stop by and check out some of the cool videos we have posted there!
