Proud new additions to the staff of Gauge Magazine

Gauge Magazine California CrewChromey, Cheri, and James (left to right)are the newest additions here at Gauge Magazine! They will be representing Gauge on West Coast covering shows in the California, Nevada, and Arizona areas. They will also be hosting events for Gauge as well.

Chromey is 35 years old and has been showing and customizing rides since 1989. He has 17 years of experience working in the body shop / collision repair industry. Currently he is the manager of the collision repair center in a Honda dealer. In 1994, he opened Chromey’s Concepts, specializing in VW performance and custom fabrication. He has customized streetcars, drag cars and sand rails. Currently he is running the shop out of his garage customizing imports and trucks now as well. For over 7 years Chromey, founded and served as president of  (AD) Altered Dimensions. For over 12 years Chromey has been involved with, served as a sergeant, and is the current 2007 historian, for the Southern California Minitruck Council. Chromey took photography in high school for 2 years and started focusing on taking pictures of vehicles once he started showing his own. 

James is 26 years old born in the mid-west; he grew up in Clovis and has lived in Orange County since 2001. James has worked at a couple truck accessory shops and served in the Navy. For the last 4 years he has been tuning Harleys at Vance and Hines. In high school, James started working on hot rods putting in the wrench time on his 68 SS Nova. He is now working on building a hot rod Ford diesel. In 2002, with his first of two bagged S10’s, James became a member of (AD) Altered Dimensions.

Cheri is 29 years old and is a second-generation minitrucker. Her parents were both minitruckers. She grew up in LA and now lives in Orange County. Cheri has put in wrench-time in shops, and many people’s garages. She was worked on her own show cars, as well as a project S-10 she shared with her boyfriend, her best friends ’67 mustang that they restored from the frame up, and her dad’s show only ’56 Chevy pickup, as restored from the frame up. Cheri has over 5 years experience in the online magazine industry covering shows and shooting features. Cheri is a member of Shoboat So Cal and active in the Southern California Minitruck Council.

Besides experience, these three are bring with them two great events. The first will be on December 16th, 2007. The 8th Annual CHOC Cruise hosted by Gauge Magazine. This is a toy drive all are welcome to attend. All toys and donations are given to Children’s Hospital of Orange County. The second event will be in the summer of 2008. The 2nd Annual Ronald McDonald House Cruise. This event collects every day household items and donates them to The Ronald McDonald House of Orange County.
