It won’t be long until we're standing at a show talking about the projects we built over the winter - or dreaming of things we wished we had done in our down-time.  I can’t wait!!!  
2008 Show season should be our best yet. We have a full staff of photographers lined up to cover many of the largest events in the world, and here at the Gauge our plan is no different than any other year… Non-stop action all summer long.

To keep this nonstop action going:  again this year we will be producing our very own lifestyle event - Slamology.   This year marks the 5^th anniversary of this show.  Let’s really pack the place and make it an anniversary not to forget.  Pre-registrations have already started to pour in. Do yourself a favor and save some cash and pre-register today. You don’t want to miss this event!!!

To start off this month we catch up with staff photographer Jason Peckovitch at Bandimere Speedway in Denver Colorado for the cover shoot of Tony Lloyd’s 1973 Chevy Chevelle.  This is the first time we have featured a true street machine on our cover.  After just one look at this car, we knew that it had to be on the cover for all our readers to see.  Air Suspension, Huge Chromed Motor, Custom Paint and Nitrous boost are just a few things that make this car really stand out from the crowd.  Make sure to check out this one.

To put the finishing touch for the cover this month, Jason added the beautiful Denise Sellers from Denver Colorado. Denise is an automotive fan and loves to attend car shows throughout Colorado. Make sure to get an up close and personal look at Denise in her Gauge Girl section of the magazine.

For features this month we will stay in Colorado with Jason for the photo shoot of Victor Baboino’s  1991 Dodge Stealth, featuring gauge girl Tonia Baker.  Just the 10” drop from the air suspension on the 20” wheels make this cool... Check it out here.

The next feature this month comes to us from Staff photographer Randall Reynolds. Randall caught up with David Benjamin and his 2000 Chevy C1500 late last summer for the photo shoot.  David has chosen a Cadillac front end, huge drop and bright PPG paint colors to make this truck stand out from the crowd. Make sure to check out this really cool feature!

To wrap up features this month, Randall had the pleasure of shooting William Bowen’s 1963 Ford F100. This truck is just plain bad to the bone!!!  I could only dream to drive a truck like this. A bored and stroked 496 with a huge blower out the hood is the first sign this truck can flat out FLY. Don’t miss this one.

When we say nonstop show coverage we mean it… This month we have 6 shows to help us boost off the 2008 season. For the first show we catch up with photographer Double D at Dropt and Destroyed 3 in Valley View Ohio on October 1, 2007.  The guys over at Dropt Out had a great turnout for their 3rd annual event.
Make sure to add this event to your 2008 schedule.

For our next show we stay in Indianapolis and catch up with Merrick Reynolds and the crew from Lowered Horizons for the 1^st annual Halloween Car Show and Cruise in at Echo Images.  This first annual show brought out the hard core auto enthusiast to spend a chilly day at the show.  Check out all the coverage here.

Next in the lineup, we feature our first stop on the world of wheels series of car shows: The Indianapolis World of Wheels . What makes this show special for us here is at gauge is we produce an entire lifestyle hall at the event, featuring nothing but modern custom lifestyle vehicles. We really draw in the Crowd and pack them in for this one. Make sure not to miss this coverage.  Also don’t forget to add us to your schedule for 2009. This show is the perfect way to help break the winter blues here in the Midwest.

Keeping up the pace, our next we stop off was in Rock Hill, SC for the 2^nd annual Charity Car and Bike Show presented by Carolina Tuners on Sept 1, 2007. Just one look at the coverage and you can see where the top vehicles in the area spent their Labor Day holiday.

For our So Cal coverage this month;  Cheri, Chromey and James take us to the 11^th Annual Forbidden Fantasy Show on March 8-9, 2008 in Lake Perris California… Now this is a truck show to the max… Huge crowd, bad ass vehicles and hot chicks on stage competing to see who can shake it the best… The West Coast show scene has it going on!

For our final show this month, we travel back east for a day with the guys from Oaktown Trucks at the 3^rd Annual Custom Rides for Saving Lives Car Show on June 30, 2007.  Oaktown Trucks started this event in 2005 to help raise money for the American Cancer Society. Since that time the show has grown into a large yearly charity event.  Make sure to check out this coverage and see how this car club helps to make a difference.

For Special features this month we start off with a Tribute to two very young enthusiasts that lost their lives on February 29, 2008. Close friend to all of us here at gauge, Seth Rosenthal wrote this article to bring awareness to our readers that every time you get behind the wheels it could be your last. Seth was very close with these guys and they are building a tribute vehicle in their honor. Seth is currently looking for sponsors to help keep their memory alive. 

For our next special feature staff member Rob Snodgrass had the pleasure of interviewing Sam Horn from SPL Max about their 2008 SPL Max series of events. This month we feature part one of this two part article.  In this issue we get an up close look at what the series is all about. In next month’s series you will get an up close and personal look at one of the coolest trophies ever built….
