Spring is here, bring on the shows
May is the month that we all have been waiting for, the kick-off of the 2009 show season. Yes, there have been several great shows already this year like Layd out at the Park, Tex Mex, Bring the Noize, Spring Fling and Forbidden Fantasy just to name a few. You will find these shows in upcoming issues. This month I will be going to Cruisefest where anything goes and normally does. Best way to explain this show is “Mardi Gras with some cars” but damn it’s a good place to party. The following weekend I will be hanging with crazy rednecks at the Lima 4X4 Jamboree. Good times with big trucks, black smoke and PBR. That Saturday night I’ll head down to the Truck to Truck pulls and watch shit break. Then for Memorial Day weekend it’s off to Tennessee for the world famous Slammin and Jammin. This is one of the best shows around with close to 2000 vehicles in attendance at last year’s show. The bikini contest normally brings out at least 20 plus of the hottest chicks in the area. To finish the weekend off I’ll drive to Louisville, KY on Sunday morning for the Beaterville show, covering the wicked rat rods, gorgeous pin-ups and the jammin Rockabilly bands. And to finishing it all off with a family cook out back home.
This month’s cover comes to you from across the waters in Italy. Freelance photographer Gabrio shot the beautiful Jenna Rox on a clean Subaru WRX owned by Patrick Tuniz. You can see more of Gauge Girl Jenna at www.JennaRox.com and I mean a lot more. Inside this issue you will find a nice Caprice wagon shot by photographer Cheri, 2 killer golf carts with a great story shot by Chromey and 2 truck features by our very own freelancer Randall. Show coverage this month is jammed packed with 6 events from California to Tennessee. Don’t forget to read THE HAWK- Rants and Raves of Justin Wynns. He always has something we can all relate to in one way or another.
Until next month, Ride Low, Throw Sparks, Play in the Mud, Go Fast and Tuck Some Dollars!
