OCTOBER!
What’s up witches and bitches and gremlins and goblins and monsters and nuns and hookers and priests? I know I missed a few other faithful readers but I can’t mention every costume that will be worn at the thousands of Halloween parties going on at the end of this month. That would take me way too long and the stripper on my lap wants her money.
October is one of the better months of the year for me personally. It means that show season is finally slowing down and I can catch up on things that need attending to with the magazine. I get to spend some time with the family and friends that get neglected during the season. The trees and landscape start changing colors making for some great photographic opportunities. And who can forget about one of the best holidays of all, HALLOWEEN. Some will run drunk and naked in the streets because of a dare at a party. Others will go pull childish pranks and teepee a house. Others of us will be responsible and take our kids trick or treating asking for candy from strangers.
This month’s issue was inspired by this great holiday. First off our newest member of the shooting team Miles Fork captured the stunning angel and Gauge Girl Holly Jamez with Mike Shaws Nissian 350Z for the cover. A couple of devils showed up on set to try and take the spotlight, but good prevailed and Miles pulled off a heavenly cover. Then we have a clean ass Sonoma aka “Lownoma” belonging to Scott Benningfield who is most likely going to be that drunk running though the streets naked on Halloween. But I’m not that certain he will need to be drunk. A few weeks ago we came across Fred Kuhn and his ghoulish Chevy 4X4 displaying some awesome airbrush work. Last but not least we have a killer fish known as a Barracuda owned by Tim wyatt.
Moving on to the shows that grace this month issue. First we have the Beatersville show from Louisville, KY where BLT and I covered the rockabilly show that had the town shutting down streets to get all the rats in one corral. Next Randall rolled over to Drop Jaw Magazine“The Big Show” where there was a whole lot of draggin’ going on at the drag strip. Smalls was at this year’s Blood Drag in GA where he claims it snowed. But hey, I wasn’t there to help hold his hair out of the toilet water. Our wonderful west coast photographer Cheri headed out to the Show Off Your Toyz show in California hosted by Toyz-R-Us Car Club, that is. Last but not least Smalls headed indoors to cover the World of Wheels in ATL where there was a great variety of vehicles to photograph.
Our business spotlight this month is Boitnotts Custom Body and Paint. Jim and the guys turn out some great work, specializing in candies and pearls. You might say it’s their way of showing some bling. They are also responsible for the paint on the stunning Cuda in this issue. also Don’t forget to check out the beautiful Laura in this month’s Fusion Pin-Up feature by Miles Fork.
Until next month, book your flight for SEMA, get your lucky charm, and bring tucking money.
