LATENESS
Well, as you all know by now, I’m late with my editorial. I will say this is the one thing I dislike about being the editor. How come I can’t have someone write my speeches like the President? Then again I would not want to be in those shoes right now. However, there are a lot of good things that come with being the editor of Gauge Magazine. But I don’t want to bore you with that much information.
September is here already with just a few more shows left for the season. This show season has been very interesting with several shows being cancelled throughout the U.S. Some shows gained attendance because of it, while other shows saw lower numbers due to the economy. The good news is, we have heard of several shows making a comeback like Scrapin the Smokes and Showfest to name a few. So let’s keep our fingers crossed that this is just the beginning.
This month’s issue is a little thicker than normal. West Coast Photographer Cheri covered May Mayhem in Anaheim, CA and Summer Madness Uprising in Bakersfield, CA. Next we have the CUSCC show in Boulder, CO compliments of Jason Peckovitch. Moving south to the Gulf Coast of Biloxi, Mississippi, Ohio native Chris Barnes and crew cruised down to the legendary event Scrapin the Coast. Then back to the Midwest for the 4X4 Jamboree in Lima, OH covered by myself with a little help from Russ Richie. Last but not least I traveled to the blue grass state to cover the Midwest Mayhem. Watch for bonus coverage of the female mud wrestling on our my space page.. www.myspace.com/gaugemagazine.
As for features we have the unique and beautiful Nikko and Nick Rovanseks under construction S-10 Square body blazer gracing the cover. Next we have the luxurious 06 Buick Lucerne of Trent Van Arsdalen, Followed by Elizabeth Tomlinsons “Cover Girl” 98 Nissian Frontier shot by Brad Walker. And last but not least Miguel Gutierrez “EL SHOE” 05 Scion XB with model Jenna Fowler of Illinois.
We also added 2 new special features that will continue every month. First we added the Business Spotlight that will feature businesses that are within the lifestyle we live. This month we visited Trent’s Trick Upholstery in Ohio where we visited the Garage Mahal, better known as the shop. To see more check out www.trentstrickupholstery.com. We also added the MF Fusion Pin-up of the Month. This will feature Indianapolis Photographer Miles Forks and his outstanding photography and graphics every month. To see more of his work check out www.MilesFork.com.
That wraps it up for this month. I will try and have my editorial up on time, but I make no promises.
Until next month, spread some glass, tune-up your ride, get some new ink and always get a lap dance.
