Let the Madness Begin

There have been several shows throughout the country already this season. But the month of May means that there is a car show just about every weekend until the week of SEMA. The madness of covering shows from coast to coast, shooting features day and night, working with gorgeous yet moody models and everything in between is just getting started.  This month there are great shows like Slammin and Jammin in Tennessee, Resurrection Show in Virginia, Royaltz Show in Pennsylvania and the return of Showfest in Mississippi just to name a few off the top of my head. But we can’t forget that May is also a great month because of Mother’s Day. We should all take the time to appreciate our mothers,  not just on that one Sunday but all year long. Let them know how much you love them and all family members because you just don’t know when it will be the last time to say it.

This month’s issue is all about the car, one from four different decades. First we start in the 60’s with Jeff Hudson’s traditional 66 Chevy Nova complete with a small block. To represent the 70’s we have Jannine Roll’s beautiful 2 tone 79 Camaro Berlinetta. Then we skip the 80’s into the 90’s with this month’s cover vehicle, Derrick Hudson’s Dog Leggin 97 Cavalier. You heard me right, it can dog leg. Gracing the cover with Derricks Cavalier is Gauge Girl Ashlee Sprunger. Last, but definitely not least,  Mark McKee’s 2008 Scion XB with some bad ass air brushing.

In this issue we have 6 shows from 6 photographers. Show coverage starts off with Oaktoberfest in California shot by photographer Cheri. We continue to Nevada with Chromey covering CES in the Sin City. Moving on to the Fast Eddies Moon Pie Run in Indiana where Derek Burkett covered the festivities. Jumping one state over to Ohio our very own Dan Moermond got all the action at the Boitnotts Custom Cruise In. From there we go to Wilkes-Barre, PA for the world famous East Coast Bowling Nationals where our newest photographer Mike Butry bowled a perfect 300 and was able to catch some shots between frames. We know for a fact the second statement is true. Last we go North of the border were Canadian resident Carl Veilleux captured the craziness of Vanfest.

Hope to see everyone at a show real soon. It’s always  a good time to party with old friends and meet new ones at shows from coast to coast.

Until next month, Buy your wife a gift from your kids, Mow the yard before Friday, Make plans to be at Slamology next month and last but not least, visit a strip club that you have never been to.
